Q. Lewis, what exactly is Linkedin, and how can it help me to become more financially successful?
A. LinkedIn is an American business and employment-oriented online service that operates via websites and mobile apps. Launched on May 5, 2003, the platform is mainly used for professional networking and allows job seekers to post their CVs and employers to post jobs
LinkedIn allows members (both workers and employers) to create profiles and “connect” to each other in an online social network that may represent real-world professional relationships. Members can invite anyone (whether an existing member or not) to become a “connection”.
An EEPPASA (effective, efficient, precise, productive, accurate, and self-aware) Linkedin Business Network is essential to help you expand your relationships and recognize, create, and then act upon business opportunities. With a well-defined strategy in place, Linkedin gives a business person the opportunity to provide unique information and value in the process of seeking customers and potential partners for ventures.
Linkedin is one of the most cost-effective ways for business people to build their social capital. Linkedin also offers members of heavily niched groups (art foundations) as well marginalized groups (e.g., women, African-Americans, etc.) to identify and address the challenges barring them from certain resources or professional success. Networking is clearly, an effective, low-cost way to promote the natural human trait of collaboration and community as pathways to success.
The essential strategy for creating EEPPASA on Linkedin is to build networks that further business interests by those forming mutually beneficial business relationships. In this way, each individual can leverage their business and personal connections to help them bring in new customers, vendors, or just get great advice for running their business.
There are several models for Linkedin networking that when followed, allow the creative and innovative entrepreneur to build new business relationships and generate business opportunities at the same time.
Today any entrepreneur, with mentoring can implement Big Data and information technology in support of their business networking strategies and tactics. There are many forms of networking one can do through Linkedin. The best type for each individual will vary depending on the business they are in and prospects they want to meet.
At this stage, once your profile is clearly defined, and the value you have to offer others is established the next step will be to actively build a high-quality network. You need to be willing to connect with anyone on Linkedin once it is clear you can serve them and vice-versa. Here you will need to send a personalized invitation to the person who has a professional profile (including a picture).
The key term we want to use here is collaborative intelligence. Building a large network on Linkedin makes the most sense today for building wealth and influence in the social network but it needs to be a collaborative and intelligent network.
Depending on what you have to offer to the world will determine whom you attract to your network. Connecting to just anyone makes no sense and will just dissipate your energy. The key is to build a high-quality network by being willing to connect with anyone on Linkedin if it makes sense to connect. The actual process is simple and basic. First, a personalized invitation is sent to a professional profile (including a picture).
Building a large network on LinkedIn is perfectly acceptable, as long as it is a network built around collaborative intelligence.
Depending on the content you are sharing out there in the world, will determine whom you attract into your network.
To repeat, an intelligent collaborative network means that you are connecting with people when it makes sense to do so from a personal or professional perspective.
LinkedIn is part of what we call the long game in HAGT. You may not need all those connections today, but if you organize your network guided by EEPPASA you will 5 or 10 years from now?
The wise student of HAGT (Harrison’s Applied Game Theory) will invest in their Linkedin network now in order to have the foundation in place in years to come. You never know what can happen in the future but with HAGT, EEPPASA, and the 25 Core Resources applied to your Linkedin strategy you will be prepared for sure.
Over time, you will notice that your Linkedin Network will evolve into a handful of supportive “clusters” or “matrices”, each reflecting a commonality of interests, such as real estate, internet marketing, SEO, etc.
These clusters of like-minded people will form groups (especially mastermind-groups) where each can learn from their experiences and get guidance on important matters. They can even find angel investors, and other support systems through their LinkedIn network group of experienced business owners.
Over time, these entrepreneurs can meet, expand their affiliations, participate in Zoom calls and feel empowered as they educate themselves and their peers. Creating an EEPASA Linkedin strategy and adopting smart tactics under that strategy can go a long way in helping you in forming friendships and acquaintances and securing partnerships.
